Thank you. Do you dilute the vinegar at all?
Also, by a couple of wipes, do you mean that you wipe and let dry, then wipe again if necessary?
Vinegar comes in different concentrations, I use 7-8% straight from the bottle but depending on what you can find where you live and what you're comfortable to try it won't hurt to dilute and check if it is strong enough this way.

And yes that's what I meant by several wipes

Thank you! I’ll give that a try.

I'm creating an account just to comment on this. I recently stumbled upon the Perth and knew I had to have them as a Galway alternative at half the cost but probably 80% of the quality; however, I couldn't find any information about them online. I finally decided to pull the trigger after not being able to get them out of my head for weeks. I went with the double leather sole version from Brogue in Geneva as my style is more formal than the Dainite the regular version has. After seeing them in person at Crockett & Jones stores in both New York and London and consulting on the sizing with consultants, I went with my regular 8.5. In two wears, I really have no complaints, but they do seem a bit roomy in the toe box, especially for such an elegant boot. The rest of the fit feels perfect, but I just have the wiggle room, and more importantly the aesthetics, of my rugged Islays. I have Lonsdales in the same 363 last in 8.5 and they're perfect, but I wonder how these would feel a half size smaller. I will update once I've worn them a few more times and I'm thinking I may try them at a store in an 8 (yes, I probably should've done this before buying the $1100 boots). Despite this gripe, which may not even be a real problem, I do love them. It's very odd that Crockett & Jones has a Galway clone and it gets almost no press, like the Balways, Valways, etc.
I might just be talking to myself but I took a picture today

My new special order Rugbys in dark brown pebble grain! Super new to the community and wanted to share my enthusiasm with someone other than my wife (bless her heart). Been practicing my shoe shining skills a lot this year and think its gotten to a somewhat decent level!

Fresh out the box vs. After a little shine

The Kirby Alison videos on YouTube are really informative on shining shoes. I buy a few things from his website as well. His brushes are actually pretty good. I use a pig bristle brush on all my scotch grain shoes.
