Hi everyone,

I'm considering purchasing a pair of unlined suede loafers, specifically the Harvard 2 in snuff. However, I'm unsure about the sizing. I wear a 9D in Alden's Van last. Would an 8E in the Harvard 2 be a good fit for me?

On a related note, I'm also contemplating the Alden LHS in snuff suede as an alternative. I already know my size for these, so there's no risk of sizing issues when ordering online (I'm based in the Philippines, and returns are difficult). However, the higher price without any significant qualitative advantages gives me pause.

Hello everybody,

as you are elaborating the different chelsea boot options of C&J, I appreciate it if you could share your wearing experience and pictures of the "Lingfield" on the 348 last or the "Hamilton" on the 236 last. I am looking for a brown, rather dark brown, dressier chelsea boot to be worn even with a blue suit.

The chelseas 5, 8 and 11 were to wide in the midfoot with many wrinkles of the leather at the inside of the foot.

Best regards

Pascal

Guys, can you recommend me size for chelsea 11? I followed their guide and with my 270mm foot length I am between 9UK and 9.5UK. What size are you? Does the length of your foot match the shoe size by this table? Thanks.

hallo @FashionNewbie92,
feet and sizing are sometimes a very enigmatic matter…
order both sizes and try ´em on!

my feet are on the slimmer side, measure 28,5 cm in length - uk 10,5 is a good fitting for me in last 341 and 348. in the wider last 325 I wear uk 10.

Chelseas 11 are in last 335, do you have experience with sizing in this last as well? Yes, order both is it option, that was also my plan, but I just find out that CJ are not shipping into my country, so I will have to handle it with some kind of forwarding service and I would like to avoid returning because of that.

I'm assuming you believe that the C&J has the higher price without qualitative advantages. That's completely wrong. C&J is going to have significantly better construction, materials and QC than Alden.

Thanks ha er,

then I try them in UK 7 and UK 7.5 in dark bround calf to be worn with jeans, chinos and even a suit. I have slimmer feet and that should work better the the wider chelseas 5, 8 11 and the "Hamilton" on the rounder 236 last.

best regards

Wow are you sure? If it is true I am glad that I asked because I wanted start with 9.

Yes. If this would be your first C&J pair or first GYW shoes at all do not buy without an option for easy return/exchange. Better yet do not buy without trying a few different lasts and sizes in person. I realize this isn't always easy but you will save yourself a lot of hassle.
