Gents,

Do you have any information on the “golf grain”?

looking at the DARTMOOR 3 (tan colour) and not sure about the leather, and the C&J website doesn’t seem to have any description about the leather.
Email or call them. They are very helpful. I wonder if they aren’t calf leather. Look at the vamp on the truffle Angus grain Dartmoor 3. Are there 3 scar lines running up the vamp or am i being too imaginative?

Several of us on the MTO thread are discussing a Dundee in whiskey cordovan: we have 5 signed up, please consider putting your name in the hat if interested!
Pic for attention, not quite the same spec as listed for the GMTO View attachment 2305015
This GMTO was proposed and initiated by me in late 2023. And the specs that were proposed on the GMTO sheet were suggested as being fixed (i.e. what was proposed is what you were signing up to). And overtime, these had changed from 4 speedhooks to All exposed eyelets; and from 325 to 335. But clearly, there seems to be a preference for last 325 and having 4 speedhooks and while some wanting dainite etc. Which is fine and i dont mind. However, I've personally pulled out of the GMTO since 325 and speedhooks just dont work for me. And as i grow old, i feel the need to go with what's comfortable :) . So if somebody else can takeover from me and coordinate this GMTO. Any volunteer? I'll update the spreadsheet accordingly.

I will in the early part of 2025 propose a new GMTO for a Whiskey Dundee with different (but fixed) specifications and leave the GMTO spreadsheet running into the summer.

Best Wishes All

I’m sorry, I certainly did not mean to step on any toes: please let me know if I could have done better in that regard.

Frankly I am very flexible, and so if there are specs you and others would feel best about, please let me know.

Maybe best to leave that makeup alone? I’m still pretty new to this, so not sure I’m the best to take over the effort.

Thanks, called the Jeremy St branch today. Was told it’s same as our pebble grain, but much finer! 🤷🏻

Well, folk did lately come along and take over the GMTO with their own ideas/variation. But thats ok. Not a problem mate. Given that there's 5 people signed up now for the GMTO, you can go ahead and try getting it past the finish line. Once you have the 6 required, then you can all agree on whatever the final specification is. Best of luck.

Hello everyone,

do you do also GMTO projects with oxfords or balmoral boots, or Jodphur boots? C&J does not offer many balmoral or Jodphur boots any longer. Also their Oxfords are mostly plain-toe ones with a few adelaide or (semi)-brogue ones in for me to wide lasts.

Enjoy your weekend and best regards

Pascal

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
