He said he didn’t want to pay LVC prices so I doubt he wants to pay RMC ones. 🙂

In the first version, RW had a leather collar on the roughout. I wanted a completely roughout and somehow that became standard.
I’m not a fan of trucker jackets (at least the ones based on Levi’s type III) but the contrasting collar always seemed out of place. I get that it’s practical though, no more sweat stains.

I was against contrast collar initially but now I like it, guess it’s going back to set eBay alert for Barbanera ennio again

edit: also not faithful to true type 3, want side entry, just because that makes life easier...

Vintage Levis is like $600+, I don't think I have seen PRL in that configuration recently. I think the one Barbanera did is closer to Saint Laurent type of aesthetic?

Not going the customized route via Five Star?

I assume Five Star's suede would be equally crappy as the other thing I linked so might as well just get RTW but yea maybe should go back to Five Star

To be honest with suede the quality difference is much less apparent than with leather IME. Crappy leather and good one are worlds apart, but not so much with suede.

I’ve read too much negativity towards 5* (in Fedora Lounge) to consider them, that’s why I suggested Rugged West instead.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
