does anyone how drastic the width is between D and E sizing? I am tempted to get a pair of Players but they only have D width and my foot is slightly wide as measured at the AE store

I have the Fifth and Park Ave's from AE in 10.5D and tried the Strands in 10.5E just to see the difference. The width difference was sizable and the shoes looked like skis on me, so I returned them for D width. I measure out to an 11 and between a D and E width on a brannock device, so I was suprised to see the differene was so great.

thanks for the response. I actually stopped by AE today and tried on the Ds. Turns out they are a bit too tight and so I guess I have to stick with the Es aka no Players for now

i'm a 9E and the Ds don't fit me at all. depending on AE's last (shape of the sole pattern), even an E width can be a little snug.

i've been waiting for AE to come out with a wingtip blucher in walnut with a leather sole. the Player's is perfect, but they don't have it in E. i guess i'll have to continue being patient.

11D's turned out to be a bit big... Probably need a 10.5. I prefer my shoes on the roomy side but the 11 is a bit TOO roomy.

And here's another question... Is the Nordstrom's return policy really THAT relaxed? I just went on their live help and they said there is no time frame to exchange items. I'm going to be gone for a month or two next week and if that is true then I'll wait until I come back from my trip to exchange my shoes.

Pretty big difference. I measure almost exactly a "D" fit on the brannock, and the D size was uncomfortably narrow for me.

I tried sizing up to the E width, but it was so wide at the heel that my entire foot was coming out of the shoe. You can try it, but don't be shocked if it's too wide.
