No. Same designer.

I believe Massimo Piombo had a label (Piombo), then had a falling out with the financial backers?

Started Massimo Piombo label with Kiton/Kiton ownership. It was sort of marketed as Kiton quality with a more fashion-forward, fabric-centric perspective. In reality, probably more like Sartorio quality than Kiton quality.

At some point, Kiton left the picture (in about the last year or two). Now, Massimo Piomboi is independent of Kiton. Not sure where the stuff is being manufactured or what the quality is -- I would imagine lower than when Kiton was involved.

Thank you, do you happen to know which is older? I have some MP stuff, that still has Kiton branding.

Thank you

The Piombo line started before the MP, because Piombo was the first company that had Piombo's name on it. However, the Piombo line continued after Massimo left the company -- I think Piombo continues still?

The MP line started a few years ago -- maybe 5 or so, I'm not really sure. Google is your friend on that front -- there were articles about the MP line when it was started. Also, I'm not sure when the MP line separated from its Kiton relationship. Maybe a year or two ago, but that is really a complete guess.
