The company is now in liquidation, so I'm afraid it can be a challenge for you. Maybe contact the liquidator, you'll find info in the documents on the Companies House page.
The guy just wants his shoes back. Not too much to ask for :) .

@Arp1 - try this landline number throughout the day 01933312065 or mobile 07832656205. And see if anyone answers (eg. Jamie). And ask for your shoes back (whether repaired or not).

Good luck. And let us know if you are successful in retrieving your shoes

Thanks a lot that is very much appreciated. No answer when I called but I have sent a whatsapp message to the mobile so will see what response I get. I've also contacted the official receiver.

Thanks very much again and I'll let you know what happens!

You will want the liquidator to be aware that your shoes are third party assets not owned by Sargent. I don't know UK insolvency law, but in most cases a liquidator can't knowingly sell off third party assets, and the specific shoes are yours. If you have photos, be sure to include those in any written correspondence to aid identification.

They might not have been "business savvy" or "on the ball" at Paul Sargent, but they are good people and are sincere to their trade. So @Arp1 when you get through to them, I'm confident they will take it upon themselves and will sort it out. Period.

The factory is closed, there is no one there, and it's administrated by the liquidator. And let's just say that the people who worked there, Jamie and co, and the owners, Paul and co, are not really on the same page on things..
So yes, unfortunately, it will likely be a challenge for him. Hopefully it can be solved through the liquidator though.

@Arp1 I'll DM you contact info to a person at the liquidation company, who contacted me a while back, so he works on the case.

Good to know thanks. I spoke to Jamie who was very nice and helpful and gave me Paul's contact details. I've messaged Paul and also contacted the liquidator. I can't do much more now so just have to hope I get my shoes back.

Many thanks to all who replied to me on this!

Wow, it's is quite crazy to read that you have to go through this much hassle to get your own property back. Must have been quite a mess there.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
