Hello gentlemen. I am buying a MTM suit in a charcoal brown birdseye worsted wool from VBC.

I'm thinking about to add patch pockets to give a little casual touch to it, but I am not sure if it will be ok with this fabric and the formality level. I don't need something too formal, I just don't want to look odd.

What do you think? Thanks!

Personally I always associate Birdseye with a rather formal, office-type suit.

That said, in brown, worn as a separate (spezzato) jacket, with lighter buttons I guess it could work as a sport jacket and in that case why not have patch pockets.

I think the same, its a brown suit. So why not?

But for me, looks better with straight/slanted pockets.
