I popped into J Press recently, and their MiUSA suits/jackets have a very soft shoulder much closer to the CAID example than the Genuardi one. The J Press MiCAN models have a much more pronounced shoulder. I quite liked the MiUSA Fox Air suit I tried on...
I went to the J Press site to
Look at the MiUSA jackets after reading what you wrote and man, you’re right. These new MiUSA suits look great. The shoulder looks much softer and more natural. Honestly, the whole cut of them look awesome.

IIRC I believe you can MTO a bunch of stuff in the MiUSA cut for a nominal up charge…I’m contemplating doing it for a seersucker or madras summer jacket

All I know is that they have a long established full bespoke offering from their London House. I have no idea regarding the history. You never see any press but they are there.
I was at Bourdon House last summer and spoke with one of the SAs at length about the bespoke offering. Likely out of my price range regardless, but there was very much an air of "if you have to ask you can't afford it." Didn't get the impression they were overly interested in new clients, though they were very quick to extoll their LP/Zegna knock-off sportswear offerings.

It does, however, feel like Simon Holloway has them back on track -- at least if their latest runway shows are any indication. They're making a renewed push for relevance in the United States, so I have no doubt they'll be more firmly on the radar in the coming years.

Will get back with the pics from the fittings. Three jackets, three pants, nine shirts and one safari jacket tried or ordered...

What, specifically is an "arctic over coat" other than a Michael Browne
design?

Looks like it’s an ulster - Michael seems to do outstanding work - really clean.

Too sharp for my personal taste but DAMN that's some crazily skilled shaping.
To me it looks like Mr Browne's inspiration might come from the iconic film The Russian Ark (2002) whose protagonist/narrator is the Marquis de Custine( right), an adherent of rollino over 180 years ago:

The Russian Ark, started watching that movie and was like this needs my full attention so will watch it at a later date... that is 7 years ago, maybe it's a good idea to put it on the list and watch it this month. Thanks for reminding me of that movie.

I love that film. I watch it at least once a year along with La Nuit de Varennes, Gettysburg,
Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Soprano re-runs.
