I certainly don't have the style background most of the guys on this thread have, that said I'll throw my two cents in. I personally would never go to a wedding with an untucked shirt and no tie. However, if you want to go casually dressed, I think tucking in the shirt and adding a square bottom knit tie would make this outfit acceptable. From the picture I don't mind the pants and the jacket being the same color (as a casual outfit). It truly depends on what the couple getting married wants, a high school buddy of mine got married in a superhero t-shirt and asked everyone attending to wear the same. I would personally ask for clarification on the dress code before settling on what you have.

Thanks...

I forgot I'd untucked my shirt in that pic, but a tie would not make things too annoying for me. (According to the beginning of this thread -- and I don't know if it's correct -- you can even lose the tie for some James Bond flair. )

I believe thats correct, I'd keep the tie on for dinner then leave it at the table as you get into the night.

The only flair I can think of that occurs after taking off a tie is when you loosen your self tied bow tie after a cigar or some other post party interlude and let the ends dangle. Otherwise, you're just a guy who is not wearing a tie.

Hello all this is my first post. I'm getting married in May 2016 in the evening. The picture you see below is from Jack Bunney in the UK, they make wonderful suits, however it would cost too much to rent this from them and I don't think I want to buy a burgundy tuxedo. The groomsmen will wear black jackets, pants, and vest. I will wear burgundy jacket and vest, however my first thought was to go with a black pants. I'd love to get your thoughts on whether I should wear black or burgundy pants. Also, if I wear black pants, should I change my bow tie to black and change the groomsmen bow ties to burgundy.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

If you wouldn't buy a burgundy tuxedo (a choice with which we'd agree), why would you get married in one?

It's not practical for me to buy a burgundy tuxedo, however that not to say I don't think it looks great.
