My partner and I are having a casual lakeside wedding at her family's lake house in August, and I have all the details of my outfit worked out except for the pocket square. Any thoughts on matching the pocket square to the tie? The Hill-Side makes a pocket square with the same fabric. Here are the components of the outfit to give a better sense of what I'm going for:
Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Silver / grey tie. Not the thing you posted which should really just never be worn. White linen pocket square. Do not try to match square and tie; it is not a good look. Also, if you are wearing a suit and tie, get some proper black oxfords (Allen Edmonds Park / Fifth Avenue is the type of shoe you want).

Archibald is a little traditional. I was in the wedding party at a casual lakeside wedding recently and wore a floral tie, your mass of dots tie is not to my taste but if you and your partner like it that's the main thing. He is right in not matching tie and square, I wore a silk square with a paisley print on complementary colours to the tie stuffed in a more casual manner. The shoes you have chosenseem neither formal nor casual I would go for a suede similar to the model wearing the suit, I actually wore bespoke tan elastic sided shoes but each to their own..

I am guilty of being a bit traditional. I have a few floral ties that I like and could see wearing to the right event. Perhaps a wedding where most are in linen or seersucker.

any help on how this shirt fits? I just don't know. Feels like it fits better than any other dress shirt I've owned, but wondering if the cognoscenti think it fits like it should. Granted, I'm a bit gorilla-like in body-style, so finding anything that fits is a challenge. This one is from Proper Cloth.

@bozz2006 I would go to the ask/answer thread, and the tailoring thread. You'll get more responses, and likely more expertise.

My two cents is it's OK but not great. I think the sleeves are a bit short, but not obscenely so, and that the straight sides (as every RTW shirt has) are imperfect for your torso shape. A bespoke shirt would be great, of course, if you fancy a $200-$400 shirt. I don't know that MTM would make a ton of difference.

With that said about the sides, or really doesn't matter unless it's (a) uncomfortable, or (b) not going to have a jacket over it.

Strange how two people can look at the same picture and have different opinions. To me the sleeves are fine but the neck is too big.

First...one can not determine if the sleeves are too short/long without a jacket on. I see so many men getting shirts made(for the first time) and not trying on the finished product with a jacket.
Retake with a jacket on for a proper evaluation.

To me..it does look like the sleeves are short and the neck is too big. It seems that when you put on a jacket, the shirt cuff will disappear.

Any ideas where in NYC to rent a tux for a very skinny and narrow teenager? Baldwins put him in a 34R and says he should have a 34S but I think that's because they don't have anything smaller. Photo below -- I think it's far too big in the chest. He can't be the only kid that needs a tuxedo while in this particular growth phase.

If I thought there was a chance he would ever fit into his tux again I'd buy him one, but he will outgrow anything we put him in before his next black tie event.

He has a 13.5" neck and a 33" sleeve. I don't know his other measurements.

Any thoughts?

These are photos of him in a 34R

I might start by researching what manufacturers make a very slim cut, and then search for a place that rents those products. I don't know if he would be interested enough to do this, but you could go try on suits with him to get an idea what makers' products for him best, make a short list, and see if you can find tuxes made by them.

Another option is to find a place thar liquidates retired rental wear, or new rental-quality wear. There is one here where you can get kitted up for around $100. Then you could do whatever to it to make it fit, and they may have more range of sizes, but who knows? Certainly call ahead to see if they have aid small enough.

Then, of course, there is the internet. Ebay of course, and etsy. But also check out Craigslist, and wedding message boards classifieds. Lots of people will purchase these things for one use, and then sell them for a dying after the fact.

Sorry I dint have any info specific to your location, but hopefully this helps you find the right place.

I agree with @ballmouse - as rentals go the fit is ok. The length, specifically, looks just fine. I agree with you, @mianmannoi , that it's big in the chest, but it's no worse than a lot of guys in wedding parties, and the slim collar suits his frame.

My sister is planning her wedding. For the men she has decided to let us buy our own suits (thankfully), We are wearing navy suits, white shirts and brown shoes. The tie is undecided, I favour a more traditional style, the groom prefers more floral/paisley ties. My sister seems to be favouring a plain plum tie, I think mainly because she thinks it is the safest to match the dresses. She isn't crazy about it, but is unsure about other options. She is an artist, however her experience matching men clothing is nil. She is also concerned about having a silver tie, because gold is the colour of the women's shoes and also the jewellery. Pictorial evidence will be most useful. Also, please be kind to my sister.
