You're going on about subtlety and spoon feeding and critical thinking skills, and all that, but you still don't seem to realize that the comment you picked on was just a joke.

My mistake, then, but your comment didn't come across as an obvious joke, and there are people who seriously think that.

In fairness, Rhaegar is hardly talked about in the show. My mind would not have jumped to him being the father if I hadn't read the books and already awaiting this revelation.

True, but even without the reveal of the father, it doesn't make sense that it's Robert's kid (which is what a lot of people actually thought). Why would Ned have to protect Robert's own son with the woman he loved from him?

It's a show aiming to maximize audience; I'm just assuming their shifting everything to the lowest common denominator. Lots of pandering to millennial women the last few seasons.

I've considered this myself several times during this season. I've not read a sentence from any of these books, but it felt like they are pandering to the 'safe spaces' crowd. It's disappointing they can't adhere more to the real story.

I thought they couldn't top episode 9 but they did it with episode 10.
I went back to when Rob Stark was declared the King of the Norf and saw how similar the scenes were to Jon Snow's. But I disagree with folks online saying that Jon Snow will meet the same fate as Rob.

The King of the Norf!

Gotta love how the last two pages are posts about how much the show has become a standard crowd-pleaser interlaced with posts about how great the last two episodes are. :teach:

Don't disagree with the general sentiment but adhering more to the real story isn't teally an option since fatboy can't get around to finishing the original story.

As long as GoT = Game of **** I think we can write off the idea this is about "safe spaces."

Since one if our regular posters has been quiet lately I'll note that the transition from **** Appreciation to images that could be seen in the supermarket line on the cover of Cosmo has been pretty noticeable.

Saw this map recently. Not that it's new, but it's an attempt to give the Game of Thrones world a sense of scale. I really prefer it to the author's interpretation (where the continents are much, even absurdly larger). I've heard it said that Martin imagines Westeros as big as South America. I always assumed the characters just had no idea how far apart the things in their world really are and were exaggerating.
