:foo: If I wanted to get increasingly drunken and incoherent texts where somebody talks about meeting up but we both know we never will, I have a handful of exes I could contact. Just sayin'.

Anent USC Athletic Director Pat Haden, there was a very interesting article in the LA Times about him today. It seems that in addition to his multimillion dollar salary at USC he has any number of other lucrative gigs and commitments on the side.

Two conclusions:

Them as has, gets!

This guy has got to go! (From his post as USC AD, that is.)

Eh... he's leading a huge overhaul of the coliseum... athlete academics are continually rising.... olympic sports are doing great (but i think usc has a separate ad for olympic sports). He's a good ad.

What is it with weird special teams plays deciding games as time runs out this year?

Stanford is looking very good. Makes Northwestern's win against them at the start of the year look pretty impressive. Plus the 'Cats are 6-2 and going bowling.

I was at the Ohio State/Penn State game that weekend. At one point the end of the Michigan/Michigan State game was shown on the jumbotron and the Horseshoe erupted into one of the great chants in college sports:

Holy cow, our offense is shockingly bad.

The defense is actually pretty excellent, though.

The final play of the Miami-Duke game is worth watching. I'm enjoying Temple-Notre Dame as well.

Happy Halloween, all.
