It's already set up based on the groups and how you come out of your group. The top seed in one group plays the lower seed in another and vice versa. A plays B C plays D E plays F G plays H

Huh? First, if England wins, they will only have four paints. Slovenia already has three, and the U.S. already has two. If Slovenia beats England in the third match and the U.S. beats Algeria, then England goes home. England is still very much at risk of not advancing, even with a win tonight. Second, they would likely prefer the top seed, making their third game important, even if the result didn't matter for advancing, which it will.

The bottom line: USA will advance with a win over Algeria next match, no matter what happens in either of England's games.

In the unlikely event that England loses to Algeria then Slovenia, USA can advance with a tie against Algeria next match if they have a greater goal differential than Algeria.

This is a terrible game.

England doesn't seem capable of launching a quick counterattack (or regular attack) for that matter.

Anytime they regain possesion, they end up passing it backwards and slowing things down.

Look for Wayne to get super-frustrated any moment now and pick up a yellow card.

Pathetic.

Cripes England are shite.

Even Rooney is shite. I guess all their "good form" was expended during the qualifying.

The great poacher, Peter Crouch, comes on to poach a goal in front of the net - hopes Capello.

Oh my, what are the English tabloids going to be printing tomorrow.

Algeria is by far the weakest team in the group. Major missed opportunity there. The United States is in with a win, and I trust they will get the job done.
