Need advice on transfer to DUBLIN in this economy?

As a native who still lives in Dublin I'd say ignore the horror stories - despite the awful few years we've had (and are still having) Dublin is a cosmopolitan European capital with loads to recommend it. There's no shortage of Australians or Asians so you won't stick out like a sore thumb.

As for the future prospects of the Euro and your relationship, can't help you there I'm afraid!

Sounds good but make sure you have the terms in writing.

You don't want to decide you don't like it after a year and have them renege on their offer to pull you back (or worse, end up stuck in ireland without a job due to no misconduct on your end sometime in the next 2 years).

Yeah, I agree take the damn offer. If you really feel this girl is the one and she feels the same, I'd say she should quit her gig and move with you. It's for two years and then you can move back if she really wants to. At your age, it'd be silly not to take it, especially if a relationship is the main thing holding you back. I'm 27 and have seen many "serious" relationships end. If you're really worried about the currency issue and your company really wants you there, try to arrange something to limit your risk (like suggested above) also try to get some sort of contract worked out that spells things out (particularly what's in store for you after your term is up).
