I don't see anything wrong with it although, personally, I would mix the tropical wool with the same fabric for trousers, and the 80% wool 20% mohair with the flannels. For ties, you can never go wrong with grenadine, especially fine grenadine. The wool would be best for your flannel, in my opinion.

Why would you mix the mohair with the flannels? I thought a mohair would be a better fabric for summer.

Thanks all! Looks like the green one has disappeared from the face of the Internet.
Seems @NassimBandini is correct; it’s a Drakes tie.
Although your pic is a bit small and low res, it indeed appears to be the green version of Drake’s “Classic Car Surf/Surfboard” tie.

I sourced a few images online:
  • One sold in Japan, via British Made, Watanabe & Co
  • One sold on the Bay, via @SpooPoker, on Dec 1, 2024. (Consider DM’ing him for details.)
  • One was also available on Drop93 as @breakaway01 surmised. (You still see the old image via search, but the website resolves to its most current state and no longer reveals the old image.)

I am looking to pull the trigger on a burgundy tie with some medallions/flowers etc. To be Worn primarily with navy and Brown jackets

I am considering this one:

What are your thoughts? Please let me know about better alternatives!
I appreciate this is an old post. But for future reference, if you like flowers / medallions as well as burgundy or similar shades (brown for example), Fumagalli is worth a visit. I love their ties: https://fumagalli1891.it/

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
