I hear MV still hasnt got their **** together as far as fuelling. Lot of really mixed reviews, bikes are either great or really terrible to ride.

So if you were going to buy a sportbike, would you do an 899 Panigale ($15K), a Triumph 675R (13.5) or just go with an Aprilia RSV4R ($15K).

Given the Aprilia pricing, I just don't understand how the Panigale fits in...

I'd pick Aprilia. The mileage still sucks but it has a bigger gas tank now as well as ABS. btw: 15k will get you an S1000RR with heated grips as well

The 899 and it's big brother are sex on wheels. That's where my money would be going if I were looking at that class.

if you only has those 3 options, go for the Aprilia. The Ducati has most uncomfortable riding position of all the bikes i'd sit on. My back hurts after 5 minutes. okus the RSV4 handles better than the Panigale. IMO it's a better street bike as well. The bike mainly for street or track?

I feel like all these bikes would be torture racks for anything more than 20 minute track sessions. I'm never buying a bike with clipons.

There is usually a solution if you put your mind to it.:teach:

More just a question - I was surprised at how expensive the Panigale was when you could do just so much better.

As I have stated before in this thread, I would buy a Multistrada 1200 before I bought anything else, that bike is peerless in versatility. For a track bike, I would probably buy a 250 or something since (a) I suck at racing and (b) it would probably teach me better to learn how to hold speed through turns than a larger bike.

Hey guys, here is my custom 1981 Yamaha XS650. Went through everything, including re-phasing the motor to a 277 phase configuration. All work done by me, including the 2-1 exhaust which was welded with an oxyacetylene welder, hehe.

Still have some plans like re-do wiring, re-do seat cowl, paint, and some other bits.

Next project is a 1982 GS750, buy some gloves to help fund the project!

BUY GLOVES HERE

Cafe Racer gloves - http://www.styleforum.net/t/328504/quilted-black-leather-gloves-badass

Mark, thanks for asking. They don't have the same ribbing as the cafe glove.

Overall, the glove is constructed very well but is austere in it's styling. The armor is hidden. These go for $60 shipped to your door.

This is my personal pair after a year of road use, still going strong.
