Ummm... based on my fashion shoes, you're wrong.

I've had a pair of Emporio Armani's for 4 years. I've received many compliments on them and have been wearing them in very hard wearing cities (Seoul - pavements and Singapore - Weather) and they've held up well!

Good for you. They are still not built to be around for a lifetime as a pair of lobbs or eg's are. 4 years really isn't a long time in the lifespan of a shoe

Most of my shoes lasted longer than that when I lived in NYC and they certainly weren't of distinguished quality.
