Have we collectively decided that no bag goes with the Margiela five-zip? Particularly in black? Because honestly, this is kind of devastating news in my life.

Still can't find a good bag to go with this jacket. Chinese grocery bag is probably the best solution I've seen thus far, but ... I'm also not going to carry my laptop in a plastic grocery bag.

FWIW, I've been using a Rick Owens DRKSHDW tote but it also doesn't seem ideal

Whilst I cannot fully speak the language of the Margiela five-zip, I can however, tell you that this may be a good excuse to consider a completely customized black pull-up leather messenger/backpack/briefcase and/or any hybrid analog variant of the aforementioned bags.

Tony at Customhide will allow for some really insane options even going as far as allowing you to submit a custom set of drawings:

For example, this messenger is simply for reference purposes only but you could request that they use nickel/silver/chrome hardware all around with a nice zipper across the front of the bag so as to match your jacket somewhat.

I like this Sandro.

That's an interesting take on the type 3. The set in sleeves makes it a lot more tailored than I usually think of when I think of a type 3 jacket.

It's also got a nice 70's "ranch" vibe yet "city" enough to wear with a variety of thangs. Good choice.

Love these jackets, looks great too. Did you go TTS?
I did. I don’t like moto jackets too tight, since at times I’ll put a sweatshirt underneath.
Hey, is that a :foo: approved double rider Peter?
Pretty sure he’d like it, although he may consider it overkill if he doesn’t ride. Someone @ him, I can’t seem to.
@UrbanComposition looks great. I tried on the delraiser last week and felt it was too short for me. I understand this jacket has a different lining but how about length? The shirt obscures that a bit for me, I’m guessing it ends right above the belt buckle?
It’s one of the reasons I bought it - I’m 5’9” fully stretched, and so many motos are too long for me. This one seems more cut for my Japanese brethren and thus fits me perfect, just at or below the buckle.

Q10 send like a simple option (and what I usually go with if I don't have much to carry).

I added an extra buckle thingy so the strap doesn't dangle and keep it doubled over.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
