Stop it right now. I don't need additional justification.

Re: Thedi, this is the first time I've ever looked into them at all. Can I get the styles The Rake is offering made directly via Thedi (or somebody else)? Preferably with those badass contrast lapels. (with the possible exception of that awesome-but-not-$1800-awesome military canvas cafe racer)

He wasnt talking to you foo.

I actually really like this jacket but I don't care for the contrast collar...if I could procure w/o contrast collar would seriously consider..

Anyone know if these are available anywhere outside of Japan? I've search all over the web I can't seem find one.

@Callusing you may well be right about that pricing. I just get the impression that The Rakes prices are on the high end. But perhaps not by that much.

Love those canvas and leather jackets too. I like the antiquing Thedi does.

U need to order direct from Mccoys.

Even the japanese stores from Japan are restricted from selling Mccoys overseas FYI. Sames goes for several other brands like Iron Heart, Buzz etc... You either have to buy direct from them or go to your local distributor

What size is yours? From the measurements posted it seems like I'd be between a 40 and 42.
I'm a straight up 40, which fits me quite well over a tee or a light knit. I do wish that the arms were maybe 1/2" longer, but to worry about 1/2" is a Styleforum thing.

Love this Thedi talk. a few years ago I bought the brown cafe racer (in horsehide of course..) from @Epaulet . It was my first 'big' leather purchase and was just so blown away by how well it fit and how soft yet thick the leather was. Couldn't resist and jumped on the black one when it went on sale later that year. (I know, I know - I got problems..) My favorite Epaulet purchases by far..

Again please excuse my craptastic pictures. Also just a shot of the back to show all the awesome details, but the angle makes the jacket look overly long and wonky (which it's not IRL..)

It fits slightly longer than the vintage Levi's type 3 from the 60s. Not cropped, but definitely not long either.

Anyone handled any of Mister Freedom's leather jackets?

For example this one:

Yes. Its very short and very thin. I don't care for it.

I much prefer the Thedi Cossack and Himel Heron. That said, my favorite Cossack is made by Orguiel. If it fit me, I would already own it.

I have to admit that I tend to reach for the mid weight ELMC half belt about twice as much as the FQHH cafe racer. They are very different animals but the aero CXL feels so substantial and armor-like. I'm literally fighting it while driving until it warms up a bit. Feels like it will stop a bullet however. ELMC's Italian HH really is just such a perfect weight, it's sweater-like in comparison. I'm sure Shinki and Vicenza are just as comfortable to wear.

This is exactly why I dislike Horween FQHH and CXL.

Shinki and Vicenza are slightly heavier than ELMC's Italian HH, but still eminently comfortable and wearable from day one.

And this is the awkward moment whereby I realize just how old I am...4 kids...a M.A...2 businesses has turned me total Dadcore...

That is one reason why I enjoy this thread so much. Lots of "Progressive" and unique leathers and many of you guys wear yours well...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
