Hey Kiton lovers! I am getting my first Kiton blazer and wondering whether IT46 fits me better or IT48. Here's a photo of the jacket in size 46 which fits me pretty well but i feel i am slightly constrained in it (feels a bit small, less movement, etc.) I wasn't able to try on an IT48 for it was out of stock.

My physical stats: 182cm/71kg

PS: I bought an IT48 at the end but it's still on its way to me. Need some advice from old sports!

I think the 46 looks pretty good. I think the 48, though more comfy, might look a bit roomy on you.

The staff mentioned that IT46 fits me perfectly, but my build makes things slightly tricky—I have IT48 shoulders but an IT46 body volume. This creates some challenges with the fit. Since I’m still in my early 20s, I suspect (and already see) there are more body changes ahead, which adds to my concern. I love this jacket and hope to wear it for at least a few years so I took an IT48.

Do you think it could work if I make simple adjustments to the waist and sleeve length? My only concern is the shoulders—I don’t want them to extend beyond mine too much. Unfortunately, I couldn’t try on the IT48 since it was out of stock...

It's difficult to say without seeing it (the 48) on you. I'd be very slow to make anything other than sleeve-length alterations to a jacket of this quality. I'm looking at the shoulders in the picture: the right (holding the camera) looks, if anything, like it's creeping over slightly. That said I totally empathize with wanting to future-proof the size. I recently bought a size 50 TF with this very much in mind. Alas, are bodies seldom get slimmer as they get older and a jacket of this quality you'll want for life. In which case the 48's probably a sound choice. Well to wear!

Thanks for pointing that out—your sharp eye is spot on! I think the slight creeping over the shoulder was due to the padding, which also explains why I felt a bit constrained in movement. I’ll wait for the IT48 to arrive and see how it fits. By the way, I saw your post on the TF suit—it looks absolutely amazing on you!

I was browsing through my gallery and found another photo of me wearing an IT46 jacket with the button closed (i wore a superlight cashmere turtleneck). It’s made from a different material (cashmere, I believe) and with little/no padding, but I noticed the sleeve length looks quite short for me, even before any adjustments. How does that compare with the one that I bought? Let me know what you think!

Sleeve length may be a fraction short but the body length is bang on and, once again, I wouldn't go bigger as it looks like you've got room there. The quality of the jacket will give it a sculpted look. I think the shoulders on this one are perfect, though I think I prefer the colour and fabric of the first jacket. Both jackets look fantastic though.

The other consideration I'd toss in here is that you seem to favor a roomier trouser cut (and it looks good, not a criticism). You want the jacket fit to be coherent with the trousers. I'd definitely want to see how the IT48 looks on you. Remember that you are not obligated to buy either of them if neither looks great on you.

Hard for me to say what's right for you, but if you're pretty standard in your size range, I can say Kiton is true to size. I wear a 41US/52EUR in Brioni, Zegna, Isaia etc and Kiton is sized about the same in my opinion.

You are a true connoisseur! I have to say I absolutely love my Brioni trousers—they’re unmatched in craftsmanship! While the initial photo wasn’t the best, the drape of these trousers is simply incredible. Here’s a better photo of it.

I completely agree with you—the jacket must complement the trousers. Since I only wear double-pleated trousers, IT48 might indeed be the better option to ensure the perfect harmony between the two piece, just not when it looks colossal on me!

The dilemma for me is that I have wider shoulders compared to my overall body volume, which often makes sizing tricky.

What you said is definitely interesting because with Zegna, I wouldn’t hesitate to go with an IT48. However, with Brioni and Kiton, I often find myself in between sizes, depending on the cut, fabric, and other factors. I’m not too familiar with Isaia, but I’m curious to try it out in the future.

So, friends,

I found several old photos of myself wearing jackets in IT46 and IT48, but in different materials (cashmere and linen). The first photo shows me in a linen jacket in IT46 without any padding. You can see it fits perfectly, though, as always, the sleeve length is slightly short—but since it was summer, it didn’t bother me much. The fabric definitely played a big role in how I felt wearing it.

In this case, the linen jacket, with its unpadded structure, lightweight fabric, and natural stretch, felt completely comfortable in IT46. I had no doubts about the size being right.

The jacket I recently purchased, however, is a blend of wool, silk, and cotton, and it’s much thicker. With padding, it allows far less movement, which is likely why IT46 felt a bit restrictive.

The second photo shows me in a cashmere jacket in IT48. Like the linen jacket, it’s quite lightweight and has some natural stretch. How does it look to you? I regret not having a photo with the button closed for a better assessment.

I imagine the wool/silk/cotton blend jacket I bought in IT48 will work better, considering that IT46 only fits perfectly when the material is lightweight, unpadded, and stretchy. Otherwise, IT48 seems to be the better choice.

I know we’re speculating quite a bit about how the IT48 jacket will actually fit, but I’m just trying to reassure myself mentally, haha.

PS: I actually posed the same question under the Kiton Napoli appreciation thread. This response is adapted from what I shared with another member there.

Sounds like you would go to the larger size and then take in the body.

Haha, I am really torn in between! I will definitely make an exchange if things don't work out with IT48. Could you see the two photos that I just uploaded and give me some further suggestions? I appreciate it very, very much.
