any insight on the fit of the 6000 loafer last in the instep area? (for reference, the instep on the 8695 last chambord is too high for my foot, but great everywhere else)

The new season of JL is live on their website, Don't get too excited though, its all crap. The only nice pair is the 'Fowey' but their limited edition, way overpriced and on a new last (i think its a new last i'm not sure).
Really disappointed in the lack of colors and imagination with the new collection. Hopefully JL will go back to their old artistic designs

Having seen these new shoes IRL they are nicer than the website photos show. My personal favourite is the Oake....It looks stunning. Would be good to see some photos of these from their stores if anyone is close by.

I'm quite sure I wouldn't buy any of these models, even at a steep discount. Hard to believe all the grays and blues....

I'll stick with the classics.

Either color will work. Frankly, there won't be much of a difference IRL.
