Seriously, the average US male has a 39” waist and their only 5’9” too . It’s not even just the US, according to this article the average French male is slightly shorter and has a 36” waist. Although, it sounds worse than it actually is because these average people aren’t walking around in what you’d imagine as size 39 or 40 pants. Most denim has vanity sizing 1”- 4” bigger than it’s listed so these average males are mostly wearing size 34-36 pants.

Exactly, and the average guy is not the target demo. Most of those guys pick up stuff from the mall brands when they want "new/nice clothes" and that's probably every couple of years or once a year.
