Curious if anyone here has the Chasse. If so, do you find the bellow tongue to be feel odd when the shoes are worn? Thinking about getting a pair of Chasse-like shoes made with a bellow tongue (just for fun), but my shoemaker warned that it might make the shoes feel a bit odd with the extra leather folded underneath.

Anyone have any experience with the detail?

The Chasse did feel a tiny bit odd right where the quarters/eyelet tabs are sewn to the vamp the first couple of wears. But, they have been feeling like gloves after that. The leather of the tongue is particularly soft and flexible, and, I did not feel that it was the source of any particular problem.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
