The shoes are made in China, varies depending on style, but the dress shoes are made by the shoemaker Gray Yim. Looks quite nice especially considering the price.

Yes. The shoes you are referring to are made in Guangzhou by Yim.

His full name is Yan Wang. And he's worked with Hobu since his early days as a shoemaker.

I have a pair by him. With a few more on the way, and recently wrote a review of his shoes on Instagram. The review is continued under the comments part of the post.

The shoes are really quite impressive, and he's continually getting better. Definitely worth keeping on your radar.

You'll need to message him in Mandarin I'm afraid. He can't really communicate too good in English.
