I completely ignored them on the website, expected just another take on Jax/Julien but they fit me a lot better than those.

Here's all the 3 colors I tried (Titan, Argyle and Pearl), and a bonus Sterett pic as a size comparison. Only the Titan had the actual original lens in, this store seems to have a habit of removing lenses or keeping the demo ones in.
Excellent thanks for these. On the face pictures are always welcome to help gauge size etc.

I didn’t even hear about the Stewart release they sorta came in under the radar. They have a ‘new wayfarer’ look to them but of course more chunky which is fine by me. I’m not much into the translucent versions and I have black and brown covered so hoping they come out with some other options here. Good looking frames!

There's that very dark blue/navy frame (Skye), that colorway is probably a bit more interesting since you got your other bases covered. I don't think I have a good pic of those but the blue is more noticeable in person than on the site for sure.

It's a nice frame, although a bit understated, that fits you well. The Sterett is much more striking.

Saw someone comment about them hoping for new ascari colors to come out. We will see some new ones in the upcoming season 🤫

In the meantime here’s my ascari collection

Nice collection. Jealous of those Vintage Tort (of course) and those Kinney.

I'd like to see them also in Camel (as I stopped hoping to see a new reiteration of VT) and basically all the colourways @MickeyPunch is also waiting for (Hickory, Argyle, Rootbeer, Whyskey), also adding Breccia and Ocre.

I realise that sunglasses are the predominant interest amongst the forumites but for those of you interested in the RX ….have any of you tried on, or have pics wearing the William, I have an interest in them but would like to see them being worn.

I never Understand quite why there are so few glasses modelled on the website, but there are quite a few things that baffle me about JMM….maybe that’s where part of the interest lies…..the mystery

I agree with the whole model thing. Back around oh about 2 or three years ago, JMM (Jacques Marie Mage) used to have models wearing EVERY SINGLE DING DANG FRAME on the website. What’s more, it was the same ruggedly handsome feller so you had a consistent frame of reference. The brand doesn’t do that anymore. I assume it was a cost savings measure for better profit margins given that it happened when prices skyrocketed like a banshee. They really need to bring that model back!!!!

100%. Haven’t been inspired by most of the new frames.
Same for me but enthusiasm comes in irregular waves. There’ll be periods of months when I’m not interested then suddenly they release a ‘must have’. If you’re like me over time you might chop and change your collection, acquire some grails and weed out some lesser worn models until little by little you end up with a smaller collection of your favourites that are long term keepers. That’s where I’m at now (waiting for lapis Dealans to ship) but it will take something special for me to pony up the ever increasing price for a new release.

I keep in mind that just as with my watches, the bigger your collection the more money you have sitting gathering dust in a drawer as you can only wear one at a time.

Flying to LA tomorrow and could visit the JMM gallery in Costa Mesa, Venice or Palisades at some point over the next few days. Are any better/different to the others? Can I expect to find any nice surprises, or items not released online yet (e.g. Julien sun)? Thanks!

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
