Jacket fit advice

Can I get some feedback on how this jacket fits? Am I getting shoulder divots, or is that just the way the sleeve is attached?

Shoulders look fine, the best way to tell if a jacket fits you is if you feel comfortable in the jacket, comfortable enough that you can drive a car with it. Length is fine as well too. It is hard to tell how tight it is when buttoned up, but so far everything is fine. Alter the sleeves and you are good to go!

It appears a bit too short by traditional tailoring standards although a full head-to-toe picture would be needed—a jacket should be roughly half as long as the distance from the base of your neck to your feet, thus ending in the middle of your frame, which usually means covering your seat although much depends on your leg length. As photos can distort that, it’s best to simply look in the mirror yourself, or have a friend look.

However, thanks to Tom Ford and other designers promoted heavily in the menswear press, “acceptable” jacket length has been shortening for a couple of decades. The Peewee Herman suiting trend appears to have thankfully run its course, but shorter jackets seem to be sticky. As such it can be difficult these days to find OTR jackets of proper length in which everything else fits well.

Given all that, your jacket's length is unlikely to draw public reprimand as it follows the current trend. Only traditionalists will notice—until the trend swings back to proper length. Which is why it’s best not to follow trends and, where possible, stick to tradition.

Can't tell about the seat thing because we can't see it. But judging from the front it doesn't look short at all (and I'm with most here who don't care for the super short.)

With your arms hanging loosely at your side and your hands loosely cupped, if the jacket ends at your fingertips, you're probably okay. (This was the measure of my really well-dressed grandfather and father from the 30s and 50s) And while your hands are not cupped in the photograph, it appears that if they were, it would fit that criteria.

Definitely not too short. It drops below your crotch and the fork in your pants so is plenty long enough, especially for a more casual odd jacket. Some people on SF cannot resist calling everything too short!

Shoulder fit looks good. I can’t see divots. The only caution is the body may be a little snug, especially wearing more underneath. The type of fabric may also be difficult to let out - if needed - without leaving a mark.
