Following up on my earlier post, I met with Mr. Myhre today to see my shoes. Unlike some other shoemakers who attach a temporary sole and heel during a fitting, Mr Myhre brought the completely finished shoe with him. This will allow me to wear them for a couple of days to gauge the fit and comfort. If necessary he will take them back to make adjustments.

Note that the trees in the pictures do not belong to these shoes. Mr. Myhre only makes the trees after the fit has been confirmed.

I wore them out from our meeting which is why the soles are scuffed.

Random thoughts:
(1) I have to say that the finish on the uppers is better than anything I own. It's a beautiful shade of brown with very subtle darkening in the right places that unfortunately does not come through in my pictures.
(2) Other makers have given me narrower waists with a more pronounced fiddle-back
(3) The workmanship is very meticulous with stitching that seems finer than I'm used to
(4) I finally have a pair of oxfords where the facings line up perfectly with no gap on closure
(5) The toe area is quite wide due to my feet being wide but the overall proportions of the shoe are very well executed
(6) There are a couple of fit issues I still need to discuss with Mr Myhre but overall I am quite pleased with the outcome so far.

I actually like the wider toe. It's not as fruity as the pointy chisel-toed bespoke shoes you see all over the net.

You probably like wearing combat boots.

They DO look like they're very well made. The color is lovely, too.

You scuffed the soles!

Seriously, very nice. It's wonderful to see such beautiful pieces of craftsmanship. Enjoy in good health!

I deeply recommend toe plates.

Personally, I "don't" like the shape of the last, so what.

Very well made, although fiddle back seems a useless gimmick to me.

I love those shoes. Too bad that I am not able to afford bespoke shoes. Mr. Myhre is Norwegian, isn't he? I imagine that Norwegian craftmanship cannot be expected to be in the lower price range...
Lovely colour. Is it something between dark brown and burgundy? I guess there is a name for it...

Lets not sidetrack this thread fellas.

Great shoes TR, really frantastic. Better than what I've seen from him in the past and that is saying something. How much input did you provide on details?
