Is the phrase 'I love you' something you say very often?

all the time. every time i say goodnight or goodbye to her. also whenever hanging up the phone with a family member. have been doing so ever since i was a kid.

MrsG and I say it a lot, partially, I think, to ensure that we never stop saying it. I also say it every time I talk to my mom. Other than that, it's sporadic. I'm really close to one of my uncles, so I probably say it as often to him as I do my dad, which is occasionally. I don't say it often to my brother, but it's implied. I only have two friends I've said it to, I think once for each, and they're my two closest friends in the world.

For other family, it's usually said in response to them having said it first.

I say it to my wife and daughters so many times a day I couldn't count them. There is nothing better to me than getting an unsolicited "I love you" from them.

I rarely say it to anyone else. My family was never the type to say it much, either to me or to anyone else.

My family and I tend to say it most times that we speak. I have one friend that I literally love like my own brother, but it's only been said a couple of times (probably when each of us was best man at the other's wedding).
