haven't really thought about it til seeing this thread. I guess I rarely say it, except maybe to my best friend and sometimes my mom.
I get ticked off at people who use it in vain. had an ex who told me she legit loved me after like 2 weeks dating so I got the hell out of there soon after

I say it with relative frequency and genuine meaning. Soon after (with the exception of my sainted mother) I almost invariably regret using it.

Never with my family. Not an emotionally expressive group.
Rarely with girlfriends - I feel like using it too soon would be cruel if things go south in the future.
My oldest friend (a chick) always says it in parting, so I do out of habit. Has caused issues with a couple of girls ("why do you tell her you love her?!")

Never to anyone.

I happen to hate my closest friends and my family is very un-loving.

I've never stayed with a girl long enough to care about her emotionally.

That's crazy. I heard some people discussing that they wouldn't say it until they've dated someone for 6 months, I think having a rule like that is kinda marsupialed. But I agree you shouldn't be saying it to someone who you don't know pretty well, and only to someone who you intend on staying with for a while... Someone who actually means something to you and isn't just going to be a girl you "dated for a little bit."

I say it a lot, but I rarely mean it.
