Welcome aboard!Hello! I'm new, and I'm making this post to become an official member!
Hello, hopefully we here can assist you in your wardrobe reinvention.Found style forum from Derek’s (in)famous twitter account. Was more into style about ten years ago, but sort of dropped off caring about how I dressed and am now building a wardrobe again after much neglect.
Hello there, I like your choices for poetry & Steinbeck too. Hopefully we here can help to improve on your sartorial journey. Welcome to the forum!Hi!
I'm a senior in high school from the States that has been slowly getting into classic menswear over the last couple of years. I'm a big tweed fan and I also enjoy Ivy League style. Aside from clothes, I'm a big fan of reading. My favorite authors these days are Cormac McCarthy, John Steinbeck, and David McCullough. I also enjoy the poetry of TS Eliot and EE Cummings.
I hope to learn a lot from my time on here, as well as contribute in some useful way.
tonysop , hello all of us as members of this forum have been wanderers at some point & many of us still do wander, wonder from time to time. No shame in that. As a community we both seek knowledge or information, insight from one another. It’s a large part of what each of us do in the pursuit of our finding our own unique personal style.Hi I'm new here. After years of wandering in the wilderness, it's time to invest in a wardrobe for life. My last lucky pickup.. some mint, burgundy cordovan Allen Edmonds on Ebay. Who knew Ebay was such a gold mine? Time to find some socks for them!
Hello Burnowski, I am familiar with Drakes & Private White. Both are brands that feature good quality garments. It says to me that you’re not a neophyte. We here all are on a journey, seeking more information & developing our own sense of personal style.Hi, nice to meet you all.
I’m a U.K. based mid 40s man trying slowly to dress a bit better. Wouldn’t profess any great knowledge but interested to learn more. To give you some idea of where I’ve started:
Suits: mostly Drake’s (tweed, twill, seersucker)
Dry weather Coat: PS / Private White
Wet weather coat: Aigle
Knitwear & some other bits: Drakes, Campbell’s, Cathcart
Why is Derek's account being described in an unflattering way? I like it and I don't understand what's wrong.Derek’s (in)famous twitter account
For whatever reason there was a period of time on twitter where Derek would reliably fill the for you feeds of what seemed like the majority of the English speaking world. Many people did not like this and complained about it (which is just brutal) and other times people would challenge him on things for him to then call their tailor to prove they did not know what they were talking about. These aspects could be construed as infamous, to me.Why is Derek's account being described in an unflattering way? I like it and I don't understand what's wrong.

I found him to be knowledgeable about men's style. I also don't see anything that people say about him that bothers me. Sometimes it sounds like resentment from excessive moralizing. For whatever reason there was a period of time on twitter where Derek would reliably fill the for you feeds of what seemed like the majority of the English speaking world.
