This is a thread in which you introduce yourself, regulars and new members alike. This is one thread I'd like to keep reasonably civil and reasonably clean, so, let's do that, okay?

I'll start. I'm Fok, one of the adminstrators on the forum. I have a bunch of kids and live in Idaho. If anyone told me any of the above 6 years ago, I would have wanted whatever they were smoking.

I wear jeans 24/7 - mostly Triple Works and RRL, and otherwise, have a lot of belts and overpriced Italian made sneakers. I mix up Wings+Horns, RRL, Jil Sander, Margiela, Haversack, Woolrich Woolen Mills, and SNS Herning,

Hope that you guys have a good time on the forum.

Cheers,

Fok.
Many thanks. Have been following your forum on and off for many years.
Recently luck turned rather sour on me, with luck and good fortune that is now a thing of the past.
I live in England and have an unhealthy interest in watches, hand made English shoes and good clothes.
As it's time for a complete update of my wardrobe I thought I'd actually join the forum for advice and maybe offer the odd pearls of wisdom with respect to English shoes.
I have noticed that American and English tastes are similar in many ways but also differ in others. I like that, sometimes disparity broadens one's horizons.

Hi there,
Looked at this forum a number of times, figured I may as well join and get involved. Mainly Cheaney, RM Williams, Whites Boots on the feet and Rolex on the wrist. Live in Australia, and love my boots and watches..

I was a member way back in 2009 or maybe even earlier. The email account I used to join back then is no longer valid, so I had to re-register and start all over. Looking forward to getting caught up and seeing what characters are still lurking on this forum.
johnnycashsboots, we lurkers have been patiently waiting for your return, lol. Welcome back!

hello there,

decade long lurker, so I decided to sign up

I appreciate the fabrics more than the handwork tbh, so if anyone wants to geek out about 14mm cashmere, high twisted wool, or the right % to blend wool, silk, and linen - DMs are open

mostly Italian (90% Zegna RTW and MTM), a few Rubinacci, Corneliani, Etro - still prefer the heavier northern tailoring to the soft Neapolitan one
shirts across the board, from Zegna, Borrelli, Cordone, Fralbo
big time into knitwear, tried all the cashmere brands, and have strong opinions and long term experiences with wearing them (I guess that'll be more relevant in FW)

shoes, the orange sole reigns supreme, just because most of the English RTW don't me too well

looking forward to connecting with y'all (Pitti in June ?) and sharing experiences and recommendations

buona giornata a tutti

Hello fabricateurialist, so glad that you've decided to lurk out of the digital shadows. From what you've written it appears that you're a true sartorialist with an inkling towards textile & material fabrication process. Welcome to the forum!

Hi everyone! I've been getting more into quality menswear now that I have a real job. I don't have many professional reasons for dressing up (working in tech), but I love classic 30s and 40s styles and plan to find as many excuses as I can for wearing a suit. Got a pair of Allen Edmonds, a few things from Spier and Mackay, and now I'm jumping straight into the deep end with a bespoke suit from Frank Shattuck (who I'm lucky enough to live near). I'm 30 and I've wanted a bespoke suit since I was about 17.

Hello 'Little Dab', Allen Edmonds is a classic brand and produces well made footwear. Spier & Mackay is a brand that I personally wear and that I believe to be highly underrated. Bespoke suits at 30 is something to be proud of. Welcome to the forum!

Good day, I'm new to the forum I was really into clothing a while back, then I traded in my style for a uniform of "I don't care what I look like." (read garbage) I have somehow found my way back only to discover a lot has changed in the name brand game, exuding style, and many more players in the men's clothing arena. I'm looking forward to going back to school on style, brands, and general style knowledge. Thanks, original07.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
