Barely-more-than 5 today. I ran so smoothly that I think I snuck up and surprised a couple, specifically the person farthest from me. Her partner nudged her towards the shoulder, giving me space to pass. She was confused (I could hear their exchange as I was sans headphones) by his shove apparently. Fall fitness just feels easy even if my legs are feeling heavy during a peak ish week.i tried to talk myself down but it can't be bad when your easy pace is creepily quiet!

Saturday I got in my early morning tempo session of 5x4min intervals. Yesterday was the gym then a walk with the family in the afternoon then just snuck in a lunch run before afternoon meetings.

Monday and Wednesday were run days this week and Tuesday/Thursday gym. Feeling a little tired lately so may take it easy next week and just do walks and such.

25 miles. My Wahoo patched me out on Hawk Hill, indicating I was at various times 30-45s up in my PR. I was skeptical, but I kept at it anyway and did my best 5 min power in quite a while. Gorgeous day with little wind.

Last week was a light week as I was tired. Yesterday I got into the gym for a quick workout followed by a 7.3 mile run and the last ~20min I was stuck in the rain. Tried the beat the rain but didn't make it

As long as it wasn't cold, I used to love running in the rain. Clearly I was in the minority, if not alone because once I was out on a deserted Embarcadero in the rain, but I came across one guy going the other directions and he veered toward me to give me a high five.

Got to the gym on Tuesday then a run in yesterday afternoon between storms. I am ok with rain running when it is warmer but this fall air could make me too cold while wet.

I got in an afternoon run on Friday that was rather humid even with the lower temps, Saturday was the gym, then yesterday was a tempo run. Felt really good this past week.

31 "miles" on the trainer yesterday. Watched the last two episodes of Slow Horses. Good season.

I was able to get to the gym yesterday for a partial workout. It was busier than normal so machines, the 1 rack, or benches were taken so I just put in the motions and headed out. Sometimes I think about joining a bigger gym so there is more equipment but I like the community at the one I'm at.

It’s a rough life, but someone has to do the open water swims. I swam a bit more than the length of the beach at Anaeho’omalu Bay twice (about 2000 meters total). My turnaround the second time was coming face to face with a honu…

One mile swim in Kailua Bay this morning. The water was churned up and sandy, but so nice to be out before dawn with an old friend.

Pic is a still from a GoPro video about .75 miles into the swim.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
