Nothing I'm wearing is French, but for some reason this outfit makes me feel very Parisian. Technically I'm in four patterns, but two resolve to solid and one is on my socks. I'll score it as one and a half.

This jacket is the polar opposite of the extended-shoulder Zegna I posted a few days ago; the shoulders are practically glued to my skin. I think I prefer a happy medium, 18.5" or so, to this (I think 17.5") or the Zegna (19" or a bit more). I like this jacket a lot, but if I gain five pounds I won't be able to wear it, due to how close it is cut in the sides to create shape with the narrow, soft shoulders.

Jacket: Barbera Collezione Sartoriale, eBay, junior navy herringbone
Shirt: TM Lewin light blue rope stripe
Tie: Chipp2 black grenadine
Square: Kent Wang
Trou: Incotex, eBay; there's a light square plaid/check
Shoes: Meermin burgundy double monks

@colHolm

Hmmm. Tough call.

Definitely not horrible, but gray and tan can be hard. With just the right colors it is uber awesome, but with not just the right colors it is just eh.

Personally, I think that I prefer the gray and tan to be closer in shade. That is when I think it most often looks great. So, here you have what looks like an almost charcoal dark gray SC, paired with lighter tan pants. Strong contrast can be great, like a navy SC and dove gray trou, but with the gray and tan I think you would benefit more from shades that were closer to one another, less contrast that is. Meaning, a richer/darker hue of tan with that SC, or a softer shade of gray with those trousers.

Just my 2 cents!

@colHolm To me this is nice, and something I don't see everyday.

Thanks!

@colHolm I think this is great. The color and texture combo has almost a casual, sweater-y, laid-back-at-home-with-a-paper-and-pipe vibe to it.
