@upr_crust
 is that a pocket watch with compass?! I am jealous (in the good sense). where could i find one please?

I am sorry that I cannot help you with this. The compass and watch chain were something I found among my late father's effects after his death. The pocket watch was a present from my current husband (an inexpensive mechanical watch, brand name London - worth vastly more as an expression of affection than as a piece of jewelry).

Bravo upr_!  Looking great!

It's good to be back among the ambulatory.

Sir crust, glad to see you posting again. Looking splendid as always. I don't know if I told you this, but I commissioned my suit after seeing your PS windowpane. Before that I did not consider windowpane something to be pursued. Imitation, flattery etc.

I entirely blame Paul Stuart's. The suit was featured prominently in the fall 2013 catalog, and it was bought with my 40th high school class reunion in mind - I wanted to look totally unlike the poor schnook I was in high school. I believe that I succeeded in that regard. I was also married in today's suit, albeit with a different waistcoat.

Ah love your pocket watch! So nice :) The whole outfit is perfect

If you are referring to me, thank you. If not, my apologies for the presumption.

The Friday Challenge is "holiday". With this in mind, I've attempted to integrate as much green into today's attire as is humanly possible, for good or ill.

Overcoat, sports jacket, shirt, tie, PS, waistcoat - BB
Boots - Paul Stuart
Hat - Tesi
Scarf - Johnston's of Elgin

Thank you, Chawk. As for the "how does one do it?" - one lives a very long time, buys a lot of clothes, figures out what works and doesn't work, gets rid of the "doesn't work", and wears the rest. Simple, really - in principle. Less so in practice, and it's a constant learning process, which brings its own pleasures.

Merry Christmas! This is actually fairly SF approved and quite trad. Nantucket Reds, LL Bean long sleeved polo, Brooks Brothers 3/2 roll blazer, Clark's desert boots.

Just superb.

I've been looking for a moss green fedora. That one looks very nice, though I'm not familiar with the brand.
