It's Tuesday, and rather grey and damp in NYC today. In honor of the weather, I am channeling my inner stodginess.

Suit - BBGF
Shirt - Ike Behar
Tie - Ferragamo
Vintage watch chain
Cufflinks - no brand name, gotten from Century 21 (the downtown discounter, not the real estate broker)
PS - Ashear
Shoes - Septieme

How do you find the Septieme Largeur in terms of quality? I love the look of their lasts but will be buying online so can't handle a pair first.

I find the quality of Septieme Largeur most acceptable - not quite Crockett & Jones, but certainly a good value for the money. I will say that, for my feet, their 199 last (on which most of their dress shoes are made) runs a bit narrow - I sized up from a UK 8.5 to a 9 for the one pair I have on the 199 last. The 224 last is more forgiving - I'm an 8.5 UK on that last. I also bought my two pairs of them for the styling, which is different enough from the usual Anglo-American offerings to make them interesting, but I had the advantage of buying them in Paris from the shop on the Left Bank.

Luger, thanks for yesterday's compliments, BTW, and more pin-collar shirts will emerge in the coming weeks.

My husband and I are having dinner with a former colleague and his "significant other", after giving them the five-cent tour of the work-in-progress that eventually will be our new home. Thought that I would try to get one more wearing out of today's suit before it would look too out of season.

Suit - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Shirt - Tyrwhitt
Tie - Turnbull & Asser
Cufflinks - DVVS, New York
Braces - Trafalgar, via Paul Stuart
Shoes - C & J

My wife and I wouldn't drink that anyway. It has a high potential to be exploitative toward animals.
We all love the perfect coffee brew but I try not to let "perfect be the enemy of good enough" as the saying goes.

Nice Donegal for the fall. Cool choice on red buttons as well.

That resembles nothing so much as the Prince of Wales' shoe repair - apparently, he believes that one pair of George Cleverley's is enough for one lifetime.

Your outfit reminds me of when I first started my dress up collection. I would wear expensive ties but the quality of the everything else I was wearing did not match.

I see that you are pretty new so I'll give you a few tips.

Check out the Working Heirarchical Suit Thread and take a look at the brands to get an idea of quality SportsCoats/Suits

For Trousers Howard Yount,Panta,Brooks Brothers and Epaulet are some of the well known quality Trousers around here. I am personally a fan of Brooks Brothers(at least 1818 and not outlet) trousers.

For Shirts Charles Tyrwhitt,Brooks Brothers, and Kumakara are some of the popular shirt brands

Nice Tie by the way

Good Luck and keep posting.

@blekit the tie and shirt look too busy together. Try the same shirt with a brown grenadine tie, or the same shirt with a plain sky blue shirt.
