@Citan1145 , I think you would really benefit from letting out the waist a tad in most of your jackets...today's included. That nitpick aside, it's a nice look.

@Citan1145 or Csatan, did you do an hour of just chest workouts?! Looks damn good.

Haha, not sure what you mean Noodles, I do work out a bit. Not a ton. I have a rather odd body shape. I am broad up top, narrow in the middle and then kind of flare out in the hips. It is very odd. I am about 180 pounds and 6'0'' for reference.

Murlsquirl, you are likely right. My tailor was reluctant to let this one out as it does not pull and the camera angles I use may distort this (they tend to be placed below chest level, no tripod so I just like a coffee mug to prop my phone up). That being said, some of my older jackets tend to be a bit tight in the chest which may result in the stuffed up look. My newer jackets tend to be a bit more flattering I hope.

ISO, I really like that suit colour on you. If you like black, I think a black velvet jacket is a good option. Especially considering your line of work. I have one that gets a lot of wear when going out to clubs etc. I have no idea if that's SF approved though.
you get much more versatility out of the charcoal worsted.

now...if it was a black corduroy double-breasted suit...that would be a different story...
Us NE Asians can wear black and look good. All these white folks think what applies to them applies to everyone else.

I feel like that's a thing but I guess I can't really confirm it. I do have a black suit though, I might wear it at some point if I find the occassion for it.

Sheesh.. did u both get dressed in the dark? There's no coherence or harmony in either of these fits. Adiron, you're new, so keep trying, but AAS you should know better.
This was my reasoning while getting dressed in the light this morning. The shirt is purple and orange. The tie is purple with green and orange paisley. The cardigan is purple as well which harmonizes with both the tie and the shirt. The pants are green which is echoed in the pocket square and the paisley of the tie. Lastly, the light brown corduroy warms everything up and highlights/matches the orange in the shirt. I think the textures and patterns work fine together. If you think the shirt and tie together are too busy, I can understand that, but I don't mind them. I've heard various accounts as to neat paisley ties with "country" attire, but again I don't mind it. This was all intentional. I did not get dressed in the dark. I think my outfit is very coherent, but may lack harmony because of the shirt and tie. Is that what you mean? Do elaborate. Thanks for the feedback.

Half a year to a year back I had this idea in my head that I want a black DB suit, to which everyone shouted NO! so I contented myself with a charcoal glen plaid one. Part of me still wish this were black, but I quite like it, feels sharp in a sufficiently subtle way.

Black corduroy? I've never heard of such a thing being made, have you seen this somewhere? I've seen black cord trousers look better than I expected though, so I can see how that's a thing.

Yes,

Black corduroy suits are badass. Perhaps the only acceptable all black suit for non-formalwear.

The shirt is purple and orange? I'm seeing red, white and blue + a blue cardigan + dk grey trews. Anyway, if harmony is 'the combination of simultaneously presented colors to produce a pleasing effect', this is a dissonant presentation.

Cacophony not harmony- like someone opened the piano lid and started randomly banging away at the keys. I see yellow, red, green, blue, purple, white and orange. There's no shame in frugality and discrimination. After two or three, you don't gain points for extra colors, you lose them. Second, you have three adjacent neat patterns in roughly the same size- the visual equivalent of a dischord. Third, the warm and cool don't cancel or complement, they compound an 'I'm going all-in' vibe. Last, you've got tone-on-tone - e.g two shades of purple, two or three shades of green, orange.. - reinforcing my impression of randomness.
As for coherence, or 'forming a unified whole': you have a rainbow, so there's that.

It's tutti-frutti ...color and pattern competing for attention. Three FU pieces. The tie alone would be too much (purple, orange and green, for Pete's-sake) but you have that attention-whore trying to upstage a purple, orange and white (shouldn't take a tie in any circumstances) shirt, and a shouty purple 'feature wall' cardigan. Three or four fits-worth of color in one. I know excess is your thing, but even so..

Some light work this morning. Cheers and have a good weekend folks. (in retrospect, I should get these shortened a bit. I have no idea why ever tailor in SE Michigan has an issue with inseam length..)

Oh, I got why you mentioned chest exercises, Noodles, my office has a terrible gym downstairs that I use after work for some weight lifting, I snap a picture before I change into my gym clothes. Seems obvious why you mentioned it now!
