I'd eliminate the belt loops as I don't use them and change the front fastening. I'd put the rear suspender buttons on the outside of the waistband (I will probably have an alterations tailor do that soon anyway). Eliminate the "coin pocket" inside the waistband of the trousers. Have them lined from the outset. On the jacket I would change the configuration of the inside pockets. All fairly minor things that I think one only learns through experience of what works and what doesn't. That's about it.

like so?

Half a year to a year back I had this idea in my head that I want a black DB suit, to which everyone shouted NO! so I contented myself with a charcoal glen plaid one. Part of me still wish this were black, but I quite like it, feels sharp in a sufficiently subtle way.

ISO, I really like that suit colour on you. If you like black, I think a black velvet jacket is a good option. Especially considering your line of work. I have one that gets a lot of wear when going out to clubs etc. I have no idea if that's SF approved though.

Like @lordsuperb I was curious about this preference.

Can you elaborate on why you prefer the rear suspender buttons on the outside?

I believe you want @Andy57, however, my first custom suit was made with trousers that had rear tabs. I like the look and get them made with the majority of my trousers. They allow the braces to sit higher like they would on the old-fasioned fishtail braces.

No, I actually mean sown on the outside of the waistband, although the arrangement in the picture would accomplish the same thing.

I find that with the rear buttons sown on the inside of the waistband, the buttons wind up digging into my back in a way that becomes uncomfortable quite quickly. With them sown on the outside, that does not happen. It's especially noticeable while sitting in my office chair or in an airline seat.

you get much more versatility out of the charcoal worsted.

now...if it was a black corduroy double-breasted suit...that would be a different story...

Us NE Asians can wear black and look good. All these white folks think what applies to them applies to everyone else.

@Citan1145 or Csatan, did you do an hour of just chest workouts?! Looks damn good.
