Massive collar is a standard 9.5cm collar length.
I don't feel the need for a large knot.

I don't know what others had in mind, I was thinking about the tension between the unstructured shirt collar and the slick fabric tie, but obviously each is free to explore his own ways and balances here.

Lapels are absolutely fine.
There’s room for individual variety and expression of personal preference among pointless adherence to dogma.
Indeed, we shouldn’t be dogmatic. (But the lapels would be much nicer if they were wider.)

I agree. It is just not high on my priority list for now. If the right replacement comes by at a good price I might trade up. For now it is good enough until I cross off other items.
