The weather in NYC today is overcast, and has just finished raining, with much cooler temperatures than this weekend - Saturday was a revival of summer.

Today, however, marks the beginning of flannel season in earnest, I believe, and I am going to make the most of it. I chose today's attire last night, looking to wear things that had not been worn in a while, and it's only now that I realize that my color scheme of orange is only too apropos of Halloween. Ah, well, tis the season to be a pumpkin . . .

Suit - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Shirt - Lewin
Tie - Andrew's Ties
Cufflinks - The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Braces - Paul Stuart
Pocket square - Robert Talbott
Shoes - Santoni

Because we're not living in a Humphrey Bogart movie. Wearing a fedora in today's world will mark you, maybe good, but probably as an odd ball. Thankfully, JFK pretty much ended the fedora.
This is silly. Virtually anything #menswear "marks" you nowadays. On the hat front, I've literally had nothing but positive comments about hat choices. Sure, you're going to stand out from a typical crowd, but that's true for about 10 other things stylistically if you're dressing in adherence to the preferences of this thread.

I've no doubt some people silently think I look like a goof, but, again...who cares?
