could be great could be terrible. without a fit pic there is no way to tell.

I agree.

I worry about the color of this suit on you. It seems very cold and gray. And given your black hair, dark eyes, etc. etc. I wonder if a bluer or browner color might liven your look up a bit.

But again - a fit pic would really help.

Click on spoiler and you'll see the fit pic. I think it looks good.

Is this cloth from Ariston?
Move the ticket patch down only exposing it by 1" to 1 1/2" and move it forward by one stripe in the cloth pattern. It will create a look of belonging rather than the pocket is trying to jump out and escape.

Yes, this is from Ariston!
Hm, I want to use both pockets, so I think it may become to bulky when I have my phone inside the ticket and other stuff in the the other pocket, when the ticket is moved deeper inside.
I like that the distance between the edges of the patches works nicely as a reminscence of a regular ticket pocket, it is similar to the spacing between the jets of a normal one.
Though I think that on a plain fabric this patch ticket would probalby look a bit better with your suggestion (the small check makes it almost dissappear from a distance).
Here is a cloe up shot of it, it shown only a small piece of the larger patch:

is there a reason you can't just put your phone in the regular patch pocket  Next up, will you be doing the hacking patch/hip pockets?

Hacking pockets, unless used for actuak sport, are feminine (ok, Im not a fan).
That patch is much more practical for phones than the big ones, think practically...tailoring=engineering.
There exist pockets from which the phone can not fall out, not in any psition you may sit, while it dioes not lay on and feels like you had nothing inside it (on pants that would be though).

Possibly the last time a tie was worn on Catalina:

Actually, this was probably the last time but it was just a movie and therefore doesn't count:

There's a picture in the archives of me wearing a tie at a wedding in Avalon.

but isn't easier to stick your big paw inside the big pocket and pull something out than it is to stick a few fingers in that ticket pocket and pull out a phone?

I don't think I've ever even worn shoes in Avalon.

No can do.
The large hip patch pockets are for iPads or the odd dinner plate ( or two ) that seem nice enough to take home from the restaurant.
Moreover, when one is engaged in the dance, the weight of the iPads or dinner plates makes for a most handsome twirl.
