I can't dissociate character from dress personally. People say Audie Murphy looked child-like but there's something about how he stood and looked at people that makes you feel you're about to get steamrolled and belies the clean traits and small frame.

LOL, green in one eye and blue in the other
I meant more "people" (actors, etc) than SF or IG posters. There are a lot in that case...
I think Smittycl referred to you because he developed a C&J obssession recently!

Back on topic...

The problem with famous people is that they're not dressing themselves. Every opportunity for product placement can result in incongruence.

Compare what Federer probably picked himself:

with this ensemble that comes with an explanatory link probably with affiliate tracking:

Maybe it is a PR image as well, but whilst I'm not a huge fan of Swiss style's tendency to go too far towards caution, Federer's always humble and self-effacing manner fits the first picture better. Well, I know nothing about the guy's personal life, but that is the impression I get.

Houellebecq is the closest I can think of as being a style "icon", not in the sense of commercially influencing trends but in a more French sense of making every appearance a message, with utter confidence.

Is this the same person?

It is certainly the same message.
