I agree they rip laces but just my preference i guess. It aint something i cant live without as at the end of the day majority decides the composition of the makeup.

In Ethan's photo it's a sleek boot and almost chukka like which is something I wanted and why I emailed Steve to get it started. I feel adding double sole / speed hooks adds a lot of unnecessary heft to a boot and doesn't really make it easier to put on as it's going to be really flexible. I'm for sure no on speedhooks, ok with double leather but would prefer single leather or dainite.

Also the loden fullstraps for me today

Thank you very much gents!

So Steve, question for you. Does Carmina do "shrunken calf"?
I've definitely seen one at Pitti (unlined loafer in soft green shrunken calf) but it's not something they purchase from their suppliers on a regular basis :(

Speaking of MTOs, how about this Suede boots for the fall?? (with unlined shaft)
I like the idea of the snuff suede for the boot, I think it gives the details on the boot more pop.
This is Unipairs version I believe;
Looks like wee already have possibly 4 or 5 interested in the boots above! I think the first picture reflects snuff color a little better as picture below seems much lighter than real life.
But yes! It's a great unlined shaft captoe boots MTO make up :)

Possibly 4 or 5 interested in this one with snuff suede.
I might have 2 interested in the dark brown as well :)

perhaps you could request it if we got a big enough group together. I'd be really interested in a variety of different makeups with shrunken calf, mainly a chukka.

Wow, some very nice things in this thread recently. So close to buying those burgundy shell derbies. Almost exactly what I've been itching to buy these last couple months except they have one less eyelet. Love the suede snuff oxford too. If I hadn't bought a tobacco and copper suede oxford I would have been all over it. Those snuff suede boots though... running out of excuses to not buy that one.

Think the second image is sand suede, not snuff.

Pity we don't have more for the chocolate brown. My current pair of dark brown suedes are on their way out and these would be excellent replacements.

I think you are right..way to bright to be a snuff :)
Really hope we can get more interest for the dark brown myself...

Steve: any word from Carmina on when these babies are set to arrive?
They are in fact here! I will take care of yours shortly!

A few weeks ago Steve floated a navy calf/Grey suede spectator shoe. I was, and still am, down for that.

3 interests on this one!! Anyone else care to join the Adelaide CapToe Spectator in navy calf & grey suede??

Absolutely. I saw where St.Crispins did a really nice chukka with a shrunken calf recently :)

Thank you for the kind words Ironist!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
