Opus is my favorite "serious" scent and Endymion is my go-to scent for evenings out.
They're both great and you can't go wrong with either. Penhaligon's (and Floris for that matter) will send you sample completely gratis if you inquire by email.

Hamam Bouquet by Penhaligon- in red here- is interesting. I bought that eau de toilette just for "the heck" of it; basically only because it was designed in the Victorian era and I wanted to know how they smelled back then.

I never wear that normally, maybe rarely in winter I sprinkle a little of it on my hair if I go to some Glühwein-guzzling; I also, for example, sprayed that on a book that I bought from an antiquarian and that had an unpleasant, musty smell to it (for some reason I had always imagined that it was taken from the household of an old man who, dying all alone, rotted or got mumified in his appartment)...so one can see, it still has its uses, even though it is much too sweet and flowery for my normal taste...
