This ranks right up there, IMO, with my Creed collection (of which I am huge fan of Original Vetiver).

Completely agree. Lovely sent...lasts forever, but in a very subtle way.

Thanks. No Villoresi but a couple of other things I may post later. Looking at your collection, it appears you are a fan of L'Eau du Navigateur and Fumerie Turque as well.

Indeed, they are among my favorites. If you are a fan of vetiver, I would recommend sampling Villoresi's; it is complex and unusual, and undergoes an incredible transition over the course of several hours. It is probably my #1, though I wear it only occasionally due to its intensity. Other favorites includes MPG's Santal Noble, and on an offbeat note, Etro's Messe de Minuit, which captures the essense of a musty gothic church at midnight. If you're into that kind of thing...(apparently, I am).

. . .

OK I now own this. Here is my justification: I wanted to stock up on Sel de Vetiver and now that there has been a run on the fragrance because of the Chandler Burr payola articles in the NY post, this was the only readily available size, and once I was getting the 50ml refill bottle, I might as well get the really cool case. Was that convincing? Here is another stock photo:

What is hard to see from either photo is that the aluminum body is neither brushed nor polished, but rather very finely ridged with the tops of the steps polished. The top unscrews to spray. The bottom unscrews to change the interior bottle.

Thanks.

I like Himalaya but it's a very different animal than MI(my signature scent) which I think is good as other Creeds seem to have similar notes. Now that the weather is getting a lot warmer in NY, I'm grabbing Gendarme a lot more frequently.

Is NM the only place to get Creed in the states? Looks like the way to go to get away from the scents commonly available at Macy's, etc. Seems like everyone likes the Irish Tweed or Original Vetiver, maybe I'll be checking it out soon.

Never buy Creed retail. Yes, fakes are abundant, but only on eBay or sketchy websites. Sites like Scentmonkey.com, Parfum1.com, Scentiments.com and Fragrancenet.com are well-known, much cheaper than retail and don't sell fakes.

Sounds good. I'll do some smell testing at NM and check out these sites. THanks for the heads up!
