On NBC only the first few commercials pulled away from the race. The balance of the commercial break had the race on in a picture in picture format. Better than nothing.

That's a step in the right direction.

Having never lived in a commercial-free paradise, I don't really care about the ads.

I cut out commercials from everything I watch. I tried to watch 15 mins of the Super Bowl and had to quit. The worst ever is ESPN radio on Sirius, OMG 50% of the shows are advertisements.

Tires look to be catastrophic for most teams. I know this only because I read it online. Comcast's lovely DVR somehow managed to record only the last half-hour of the broadcast.

Webber clearly deserved to win, and Rosberg should've been on the lowest step. team orders suck.

Rosberg followed team orders, but Vettel ignored his team. Vettel was right to pass since he was quicker than Webber. Still shocked Webber actually started the race without losing 3 places. I'm also quite thrilled Alonso crashed himself out like the idiot he is.

Don't understand your post.

Weber deserved the win, but was slower than Vettel.

Rosberg deserved the podium, but was faster than Hamilton.

How does that work?

+1 on Alonso.

Vettel is really a prick. He ignored a team order and forced his way past Webber. Did you hear Weber say "Multi 21 Seb", hands in the air "yeah, multi 21" in the waiting area? That was a very muted room. If I was Webber I'd have shoved that water bottle down his throat. 21 must mean car 2 and 1 in that order.

Vettel is also a liar:

"Today it did and I should have translated the call into action. I just didn't get the message. I got it. I heard it. But obviously no action followed because I misunderstood."

I loved Rosberg's comment "remember this one".

WEbber wasn't slower than Vettel, the team told him to back off so he did.

You're right. I read about how he turned the engine down. Dude, Vettel is worse than Schumacher and Alonso. He has a kids face and is good on camera, but this is a pretty severe piece of bullshit. I really can't believe he did it. And Webber is right, he will get protection.

^ To be fair, I believe Webber did the same couple of years back. I think we know what is going on here: they have really good cars, they are both great drivers and there is only one title. It can't be easy.

He didn't actually pass him. He raced him, similar to what Barichello did with Schumacher a few times.

This is a different animal. 1, because Vettel gets protection, 2 because Silverstone was a late season championship battle. It's pretty clear there is favoritism in the team from the top down. I would have crashed his ass.

In addition, his petulant calls for Webber to be instructed to move over show he's really just a dick head like Alonso. To be fair, Rosberg was a bit of an ass for asking twice, but I think he wanted to even the battle with Hamilton more than greedily suck up points.

I wouldn't have believed that I could feel sympathy for Mark Webber, but there you have it.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner believes there was nothing accidental about Sebastian Vettel's ignoring of team orders to win the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Vettel plunged his Red Bull team into a huge controversy at Sepang on Sunday when he ignored a pitwall order to hold position and instead overtook team-mate Mark Webber to triumph.

Although Vettel apologised to the team and Webber for what happened - claiming his actions in defying orders were 'not deliberate' - Horner was not convinced.

When asked why the team did not ask Vettel to relinquish the position to Webber in the closing stages to make up for his defiance, Horner said: "Do you honestly think that if we had told him 'slow down and give the place back', he would have given it back?

"There was no point. He had made it quite clear what his intention was by making the move. He knew what the communication was. He had had the communication. He chose to ignore it."
