I've been trying to find sources for five-pocket pants, the type that are styled like regular denim jeans, but not in denim fabric (i.e., not blue jeans). Do you know of any manufacturers that make these pants? What I have in mind is something along the lines of this Filson pant (see pic), but wanted to see what else is out there. Thanks in advance!

The class of cavalli has a pair like that almost a staple in its line or at least for the many years i have shopped, the only thing that would change would be the bethee fabric used depeding on thee season.

Docle has sort of gone Jeans crazy with their non formal pants so alot of their stuff would fit your desires.

Other than that look at the photos of the shows u could probably find alot there, if u are lucky there may be some on sale in late july from the spring season.

Im also looking for something similar but am actually having a tough time - looking for a slim cut pant in the seat and thigh (with a relatively low rise) that has a flair as the leg goes down to the shoe but had 5 pockets and not made from denim.

i have found some things but mostly in linen (hopefully, this would mean that in the fall the selection would be more prevalent).

anyone have ideas on where to find such a cut?

Go to the Streetwear and Denim Forum, there is a pinned thread with online stores, most of them have 5-pocket non-denim pants.

I think peasantonline had some, activeendeavors, I am sure a few others; companies that make jeans usually also make non-denim pants similar to jeans.

French labels agnes b and APC always have a jean cut trouser in their collections, every season that I can recall (esp agnes b, as that seems to be a year round staple)

Pal Zileri Concept ( or the earlier PZ pull or PZ Sport lines) makes them in several fabrics, wool, linen, cotton, tweed...

Virtually all of my casual pants from Borrelli are made similarly to this - flat front, low rise, slim through the calf, knee and thigh and mostly with j-pockets. Ian Daniels is a good source. Some nice colours too.

maybe part of the reason im having a problem is my size 30 waist - that kiton example was nice, however, it isnt available in my size (nor are other similarly tasteful options).

question on the borelli - are these also 'boot cut'?? all borelli pants i have seen have a slim leg all the way down to the ankle

No way - all of mine are tapered.

They are around, just difficult to find. I stumbled across some in-store in both Macy's and Nordstrom, and have found them online:

Nelson Beach pants by Indigo Palms

Calvin Klein cotton linen Parker pants

Tommy Hilfiger Joel pants
