IMHO, save the ritzy stuff for when you actually have money. Your interviewers don't give a **** if your suit costs 100 or 1000 if its conservative cut and pattern (cough navy or Grey) , looks like it was sized for you and not a relative twice your size, and isn't falling apart.

I like clothes too, but you're going to have a lot of other expenses while interviewing.

Works best if you can measure a well fitting suit or sport coat and pants. The pants can be altered a fair amount and the jacket can have sleeves adjusted. You can buy the right sized AEs on ebay and sell yours or post a wtb or trade on the first thread I posted.

I literally have maybe 600 dollars in my interview getup tops includes the suit, shirt, tie, socks, and shoes. I think I spent 800-1000 and have 3 suits, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 shirts, 2 ties, and a few socks. Those are just the ones I would wear to an interview. IMHO get something solid and build up over time. If you just need a suit up get started start with a more frugal option. This is just my advice, student to student. I love this site but you need to remember that some here likely spend a years worth of your rent on the suits they wore this week.

BBGF=Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece. Honestly, I would wear a fairly conventional suit to school interviews--nothing flashy.
You might also look at Luxeswap on ebay. Matt, the owner, is a pillar of Styleforum. He has lots of great stuff at incredible discounts. Just check the thread for some examples.

Were you referring to the BBGF suit as flashy? It's legit just plain navy. I spent as much on it as a coworker at the time did on his men's warehouse suit for the same purpose...

I like the Armoury suit as an interview option. Gray and navy are your best friends. Since being a student will likely crimp your clothes budget for the foreseeable future, go for a versatile three season-ish cloth.
So sorry to heat about the too-small shoes. That's always frustrating. Sounds like you have the tie game down. You should definitely check out the ties at Luxeswap. There are some amazing deals.

Thank you both I have started exploring both resources as well. I'm posting images of me with 2 suits on. One Ring Jacket and one Ralph Lauren. Thoughts?
