Land's End Suede Buck.
Bought on sale for $50 in 2012 or so.

Not some vanity shoe that is worn once a month and photographed for then worn.

Easily my most workhorse shoes I have ever owned.

I've replaced the laces 3 times, I think
The toe started to separate from the rubber sole a few months ago, and now its done.

Gladly, back in 2013, I bought a spare $50 pair that I've been saving.
Here is to another 8 years !

Reev is baaaaaaack!!?

We know you have some idiosyncratic views on the subject of menswear, which is fine, but did you not long for a bit of variety when wearing the same shoe “DAILY” for the last nine years?

Do you still have the pair with Redenback soles that you thought were so pretty you didn’t want to wear them and scuff them up?

No, these shoes came to dominate and eliminate my entire rotation due to the comfort level of rubber soles and soft suede uppers. I retired or sold off most of my other shoes.

I never had a pair of Redenback soles. Are you referring to the vintage never worn oxblood shell Florshiem shoes I acquired? I ended up getting them resoled with rubber after the soles practically melted when worn in rain. Also, the metal vcleat was treacherous. Yes, I still have them. Also have my Polo Darlton shell and my Cheaney boots. I basically only wear the Land's End shoes. And $20 sneakers when not at work.

Just a tad of gorilla glue and it would have been good to go for another 9 years.

Damn, that's a great point. I was too quick to raid my backup stash.
I will absolutely try out the Gorilla glue before retiring this first pair.
The suede uppers are perfectly fine after 9 years

How about a photo showcasing these 9 years of wear?

I'd say you got good value. A lot of people incorrectly believe suede is a "delicate" leather. Far from it, as your experience shows.

The suede is the least worn part of the shoe. Just a burn mark from when I was pushing a firepit with my feet. The neck opening is the most worn and frayed. I would say suede ages way better than regular leather, which gets easily creased and scuffed.

Really like that look. I have a pair of 23 year old Cole Hahn's that look very very similar, but I have not worn them daily. I just had them resoled with leather soles. I expect another 23 years of service, though the resole probably cost a little more than the original pair.

Lets see some pics of the retired ones. I have these same shoes, too.
