Hey guys,
Thanks for your patience! Okay, the Shortwing Blucher Order is online now and open until next Saturday. As always, PM me if you need your size added to the selection.

Alden Cigar Shortwing Blucher DEPOSIT: $325
In terms of the Longwing, I'm not sure where we ended up with details. Here's the thing - if you guys want the basic Longwing style in Cigar (double leather sole, blind eyelets, Barrie last), then you're better off waiting for it to pop up at the Shoe Mart. They run stuff like that all of the time. For a preorder project, we might as well make something unique and rugged. How about matched metal eyelets, storm welt, and a commando sole? Make it a tough-ass longwing!

Sounds like a great idea Mike. A commando soled longwing came in second in voting after the SWB we're doing.

Assuming that LWB is also on the Leydon last, that combo of details is *exactly* what I was hoping for.

Hey guys!

Thanks for your patience! After long last our preorders are fully up.

First up, we've got a few days left on the Shortwing Blucher in Cigar:

Alden Cigar Shortwing Blucher DEPOSIT

Now we've got a Longwing in Cigar as well:

Alden Cigar Longwing Blucher: $325

And, a huge thanks to CHRK33, mr chorizo, and JPFNY5 for cooking up this one...

Mixed Media Shortwing Boot

As the mixed media boot isn't done in a special shell color, we should be able to get that pretty quickly. I have to keep us covered with the official 9-18 month lead time dictated by Alden, but around 9-10 months is pretty reasonable for this. They usually have these leathers in stock. I don't think that we'll get it before the end of this year, but it should arrive early next.

And thanks to everyone for floating the Ravello Tanker idea. But I'm going to hold off on taking preorders for that style. At the moment, Ravello is really scarce, and I'm already waiting on four styles in it (one of which the "Obscura" that we just submitted). I think that I'm at my limit as an account on how much Ravello that I can request. It pops up pretty regularly in Cigar, but if you guys want to give it a go in Whiskey then I could probably order that.

Wondering what is the difference between Double Waterlock and Double Oiled (for the two cigar bluchers)?

For the mixed media boot, is the color of the boot in the photo cognac?

Why all the love for the Leydon? (a last I have NO experience with). I like the grant and plaza and, based on the chart the leydon should fit in the same size?

I would say same size on Leydon as you are on the Plaza. Grant is harder to pin down, but I go same size.

Speaking for myself, it's the less pointed toe. It manages to capture the more casual/chunky look of the Barrie, w/ less volume in the heel and a slightly less bulbous toe. Overall less dressy/pointed than either grant or plaza.

Just checking to see if their might be any others people interested in a tumbled calf version of the Alden jumper boot on a double oiled sole. I am just checking to see if it is worth asking MIke to help us get an order done. Leather Soul makes almost every other color and leather, but not the brown for some reason.

I Pm'd Mike about the Jumper boot and he said it would not be a problem. He suggested a commando sole. I would prefer the double oiled, but want to see what others think.

the jumpers I have seen are on the trubalance, but it could be on a the barrie also, so it still looks more casual than dressy.

I would be up for the jumper if it was in black -

LS is supposed to be getting in Ultimate Jumpers in brown CXL sometime in April or May - if you are looking for a brown jumper with a double oiled waterlock leather sole, you might want to contact Tom or Bryan ASAP. Here is the link as to what they look like:

http://leathersoulhawaii.com/2011/02/03/the-ultimate-jumper-boot-lsw-lsbh/

Quite frankly, I think they are fantastic and am anxiously awaiting my pair.

A black jumper, on the other hand, is something Tom has shown reluctance to offer: LS offered black jumpers in lady calf end of August '10 and, even though they sold out, Tom said it "wasn't a best seller" and "really can’t say if/when we will reorder this" (I'm not criticizing him, merely quoting him).
If you want to see for yourself, go here:
http://leathersoulhawaii.com/2010/08/29/alden-shoes-lady-calf-jumper-boots/
(see Tom's comments on 12/12 regarding the above quotes)

I respectfully forward the idea of a black jumper, blind eyelets and pull tab (of course), commando sole, trubalance last -

keep it simple, keep it comfortable, keep it classic -

if you want to jazz it up a little, I also think that these jumpers, but with an antique trim, might look rich, too -
